About Community Supported Agriculture By belonging to the CSA, members support organic farming practices that are healthful for people and the environment. They also have the opportunity to eat the freshest, most nutritional produce available. Our members receive boxes of fresh produce delivered to convenient neighborhood locations. We deliver to neighborhood pickup locations in the East Bay, San Rafael, and the South Bay, as well as in Sacramento, Davis, Woodland, and Esparto. (See Neighborhood Delivery Sites.) For a small additional fee, Full Belly can also deliver right to someone's door on Tuesday and Wednesday at selected locations in the East Bay. (Tuesday home or office deliveries: Emeryville, Oakland, Piedmont, Alameda. Wednesday home or office deliveries: Berkeley, Kensington, Albany, El Cerrito.) You can also arrange for home or office deliveries with Pedal Express in Berkeley (more details below). When you register for the CSA, you choose a delivery day and a neighborhood pickup place. Each month, you place an order for the weeks that you want to pick up a box of produce. You can skip a week or two if you let us know at the beginning of the month. You can also cancel a weekly order and receive credit if you notify us five days in advance. (For example, notify us on Monday if you want to cancel a Friday order. However, annual payers must order for consecutive weeks; no skipping allowed.) You don't have to order for every week. You can order for every other week, for example, or omit weeks in a month when you will be away. For other details about orders and pickup, go to our Members' Info. An order of produce costs $17 per week. The cost is $16.50 per week if you pay for three months in advance ($214.50 for 13 weeks), or $16 per week if you pay one year in advance ($784 for 49 consecutive weeks; no skipping boxes for annual payers). Home or office delivery is available on Tuesday and Wednesday in selected East Bay locations for an extra charge of $7 per week. A weekly order of vegetables feeds an average family of 2 to 4 people. The kinds of vegetables you receive depend on the season. For example, a produce order in the Spring might contain: 1 bunch carrots, 1 bunch broccoli, 1 bunch red kale, 1/2 lb salad mix, 1 green cabbage, 1 lb potatoes, 1 bunch beets, 1 bunch green garlic. For the produce in this week's CSA boxes, go to the CSA Box list. Full Belly chooses what vegetables and fruits go into the weekly orders. However, Full Belly grows many crops to offer a wide variety of produce to its members. CSA members find their favorite fruits and vegetables in their boxes, as well as new kinds to try out. Home or Office Delivery You can also arrange for home or office deliveries with Pedal Express. Pedal Express can pick up your CSA box from Full Belly pick-up locations in North Oakland, Central Berkeley, or North Berkeley, and deliver the box to your door.
